‘Romance à Joséphine’ - a new CD dedicated to the Polish composer Maria Szymanowska (1789-1831)
Indeed, the emotions that inhabit them and the constant desire to exceed the imposed codes often lead them to shake up styles and reach a more declamatory and fusional language of the voice-piano duo.
The ‘Josephine's Romance’ by Maria Szymanowska has the character of an enigma: Is Joséphine the sender, messenger or author of the ‘Romance’? Who is this Josephine?
The CD, with a booklet in English, German and French, as well as a brochure with the texts of the songs and their translation into English, aims to contribute to the enrichment of the panorama of music created and practiced in the Europe of the 1820s.
